Since 2000, Eksim has been measuring the wind speeds as per IEC 61400 standards at more than 100 locations of Turkey and made wind assessment and feasibility studies.

As a result of those studies, Eksim has applied EMRA (“Energy Market Regulation Authority”) for a total of more than 1000 MW installed capacity between 2002 and 2008 years for 20 projects.

As the licensees of the 7 projects with a total capacity of 247 MW have been granted by EMRA, necessary preparations have been started for the installation of those projects.

At the end of 2009, by the commission of the four projects in Izmir-Seferihisar & Ovacik, Balikesir-Susurluk and Adiyaman-Kahta, Eksim aims to reach capacity of 190 MW with 658.000 MWh annual energy yield.

By 2011, the first 12 projects, having capacity of 468 MW with an annual energy yield of 1,500,000 MWh, will be completed.
